So what is gluten intolerance?

Gluten Intolerance is basically the body's rejection of the proteins found in wheat.  Foods that contain gluten are typically things like breads and pastas, but gluten can be found in so many foods that you eat.  Let's take pizza as an example.  The picture shown here is pizza dough that can be found at your favorite pizza place.  This dough is made from wheat based four!  If you suffer from gluten intolerance, you know that eating pizza is a luxury that you simply cannot afford.  The pain and cramps that follow are simply too terrible to think about.

What happens when my body rejects gluten?

Basically the lining of the small intestines becomes inflamed causing diarrhea and severe to moderate stomach cramps.  A side effect of the inflammation is the fact that your body does not absorb the nutrients that it needs.  This lack of nutrients can cause mental fatigue, exhaustion and irritability.  These symptoms can affect our career, family life, and our relationships with friends.  All of these side effects can be avoided.  Once you are living gluten free, the feeling of liberation will be unbelievable.  And guess what, you will be able to eat pizza again!

How do I live gluten free every day?

The first and the simplest thing that you need to do is avoid eating breads and pastas. The thought of not being able to eat sandwiches, spaghetti, and pizza is unbearable. I know! The key to eating sandwiches and your favorite Italian dishes is gluten free flour. Gluten free flour will become one of your greatest friends in your struggle with gluten intolerance. Making gluten free bread and pasta at home can be a very enjoyable experience. Where can gluten free flour be purchased? Believe it or not, you can find it at your favorite mega mart. Many varieties of gluten free flour can also be found at your local specialty grocery store. It almost seems like every time I go into my favorite specialty store, I find a new brand or variety. Living gluten free every day is possible!
